Off leash

A lot of people say things about dogs being off leash. Here are my opinions. I feel that if your dog can be off leash, in your private property, or even a friends private property or a secluded environment that’s great. It is annoying when you have dogs that have to be constantly tethered or contained in someway just to keep them nearby and safe.I feel like when it comes to a public park, not a dog park, hiking trail, or even vacation resort. It would be best to have dogs on leash. I,just feel like you never know what could happen in a situation such as a public park or hiking trail. Wild animals, aggressive dogs or even dangerous people. It would be better to have your dog close to you and contained in case of an emergency. As far as dog parks I feel like they are for vaccinated friendly dogs with dog handlers who are able to control their dogs. If the dog has a chance of having diseases, has a weakened immune system due to age, or is aggressive, a dog park is not a good place. I also feel like puppies should be a certain age before they should go to dog parks. Yes dog parks are not the ideal situation, but some people have situations where they cannot exercise their dogs properly and dogs do need exercise and I feel like socializing with other dogs is a good thing for some dogs. Some people are totally it’s dog parks and dogs being off leash. Every dog, handler, situation, and circumstance are different. Not one rule of thought can go for every single dog and handler. I have, one dog, who is great off leash. Great obedience, great recall, very friendly so off leash situation‘s are wonderful for her. I only do it in a controlled environment such as private property or somewhere that’s fenced in.
